Links with Hampton School
Hampton Pre-Prep & Prep School (formerly Denmead School) joined the Hampton School Trust in September 1999; since then the two schools have developed close links while operating independently on a day-to-day basis.
The schools within the Hampton School Trust are overseen by the same Board of Governors, which includes a Hampton Pre-Prep & Prep Committee. The Pre-Prep & Prep Headmaster is a member of the Hampton School Trust Senior Management Team and is responsible to the Hampton Headmaster. They meet regularly to discuss the progress of all pupils at the Pre-Prep & Prep School (whether they will be progressing to the senior school or not) and other matters of mutual benefit.
The close links between the Pre-Prep & Prep School and Hampton School offers many shared benefits: there is extensive liaison between teaching and support staff at the schools and resources and facilities are shared across the sites. On several occasions throughout the year, Hampton Prep pupils enjoy use of the senior school’s sports grounds and its professional-standard performance venue, The Hammond Theatre.
A significant number of Hampton Prep boys go on to join Hampton School at 11+ each year, subject to meeting the Admissions Requirements for the senior school. The Prep School also runs a Hampton Assured Places scheme for boys from Year 2 through until Year 5. More information on the Hampton Assured Places scheme can be found by following the link:
Boys also move on successfully from Hampton Prep to other senior schools in the area. These include Radnor House School, Halliford School, St James’s School, Reed’s School, Kingston Grammar School and St George’s College amongst others. The Hampton Prep staff, in close liaison with parents, use their understanding of each boy to establish which senior school environment will be best suited to him.
