Exams and interviews for boys in Year 6 involved in the 11+ entrance assessment and scholarship processes are all but complete now. The waiting game continues until more or less the half term break, which is typically when most Senior Schools will be releasing results to parents. I am always very proud of the ways the boys prefer to support each other at this juncture in Year 6. I am due to remind boys of our expectations around the critical importance of mutual support – including how much it means to me personally for the boys to be quietly proud of their outcomes without undue boasting or crowing, and certainly without denigration of other boys’ outcomes – in assembly on Monday next week. A chat at home along these lines between parents and boys, ahead of Monday’s assembly, would be very helpful. Do please come to Mr Ford or me if ever you as parents feel the boys in Year 6 are not being mutually supportive. Our expectations on this matter remain very clear.
