Running alongside the above, our assembly theme for the term is ‘Expanding Horizons’ and Mr Smith got the programme underway on Thursday.  Further to my note in the beginning of term letter, if you feel you are able to contribute to one of our assemblies, then please do get in touch with me.

At the same assembly, we welcomed our new House Captains and Vice-Captains for the term ahead, as well as the new Year 2 librarians, they are as follows:

Lancaster (red): Charlie, House Captain – Finlay M, Vice-Captain

Tudor (blue):  Chuck, House Captain – Jimmy, Vice-Captain

Windsor (yellow):  Willem, House Captain – Anne, Vice-Captain

York (green): Akshen, House Captain – Karam, Vice-Captain

School Librarians: George, Willem, Harry, Aran, Efe and Thomas

This week the Courtesy Cup and Badge went to Harris (Year 1) for beautiful and respectful listening behaviour – using whole body listening skills.

and Stars of the Week were awarded to:

Year 2:  Finlay P for kicking off 2024 with such an enthusiastic approach to his learning.

Year 1:  Lucas for an amazing alliterative animal book!

Reception: Krishna for using fantastic expression in his reading.

Over the Christmas break, Chuck (Year 2) was awarded the player of the week for his U7 Football team and, whilst on a family holiday to Hawaii, he and his little cousin spent two full mornings cleaning rubbish from several beaches on the island of Oahu with a number of local residents – very well done!  Congratulations also to Ethan (Year 1) for achieving a bronze award in snowboarding and to Shreyan (Year 1) for a story he had published in his old school’s annual magazine.

On a house keeping note, please could you ensure that all items of clothing are clearly labelled, as it is very tricky to keep track of unnamed items.  Please do inform the school office if you don’t intend taking up the late stay place you have booked; this means the place can be offered to someone else and a swifter departure for all at the end of the school day.  We thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Have a super weekend!
