Entry To Kindergarten & Pre-Prep

Who can apply

Entry at age 3

Children enter Kindergarten in the September following their third birthday. Pupils may attend full time or a minimum of five morning sessions, or the equivalent, i.e. two and half days, taken across the week. It is our strong recommendation that children attend the setting for at least five mornings.

Children born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022 will be entering Kindergarten from September 2025. We have now held our Kindergarten Play Visit assessment for September 2025. If you are interested in this entry point for your son or daughter please email the Admissions Team on admissions@hamptonprep.org.uk.

Children born between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023 will be entering Kindergarten from September 2026.  Registration for this entry point is open.

Entry at other ages

Children wishing to join Hampton Pre-Prep in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 will be invited to visit the School prior to entry, as and when places arise. They will meet the Head of Pre-Prep and the Head of Learning Support (Pre-Prep), and spend time with prospective classmates. During the visit, we will seek to establish overall academic potential through predominantly skills-based, teacher-led assessments.

Registration

To register your son or daughter for entry to Hampton Pre-Prep & Prep please complete the online registration form using the link below. If you experience any difficulties with the online process please let our Admissions Registrar know on 020 8979 1844 or email admissions@hamptonprep.org.uk.

We shall acknowledge your registration on receipt of the completed form and non-refundable registration fee. The fee to register your child is £120. Children may be registered for entry at any time after their birth and early registration is recommended.

Kindergarten Play Visits

We invite all Kindergarten applicants to attend a ‘play’ visit where they will meet our staff. This will help us and parents assess whether Hampton Pre-Prep is the right environment for their child, and one in which they will be happy and thrive.

Registration is open for children wishing to enter the Kindergarten from September 2026. The Play Visit assessment for this entry point will take place in February 2026 and the exact date will be published on our website in due course.

We have now held our Kindergarten Play Visit assessment for possible entry into Kindergarten from September 2025. If you are interested in this entry point for your son or daughter please email the Admissions Team on admissions@hamptonprep.org.uk.

Results

Parents are notified of the outcome of the Kindergarten Play Visits within ten days. Those in receipt of offers will have an acceptance deadline, at which point a deposit will be required to secure the place.

The same process is followed for any families in receipt of occasional place offers.

Please note that the Pre-Prep is situated in a period building which is not suitable for children with mobility difficulties.
