Our Parents’ Association has a very simple purpose – to bring children, parents and staff together through events that widen the sense of School community, to raise funds and to have fun.

Around £12,000 is raised annually through a variety of different events and projects. Each year, there is a Christmas and Summer Fair which are great fun-filled events for the whole family. In addition, we have an annual Pool Party, Quiz and Bingo nights for parents, teachers and children.

Raising money is obviously an important part of what we do for both charity (charities are selected by the pupils) and for buying those little extras (and sometimes quite big extras) that come outside the normal School expenditure. Recently items have included stage lighting, interactive whiteboards throughout the School, play equipment for the Pre-Prep Department and outdoor furniture. We also have an on-going expenditure programme for ICT equipment and books for the libraries.

Three meetings are held each term – one a coffee morning (open to all parents), one in the evening, for the committee and all class reps, when planning of events takes place and there is discussion of new fundraising ideas and finances, and one for the committee and teachers, where any items of joint interest can be discussed.

Parents and guardians become members of the association when their children join the School and we sincerely hope that everyone will get involved in any way they can. Help is always needed setting up functions, running the BBQs, and organising events. It doesn’t matter if you can’t do much – designing a flyer for the Bulletin, donating a prize for the raffle or half an hour serving drinks at the Quiz Night is a great help!
