Belle had the girls and boys enthralled about the many varied and exciting opportunities she has experienced as a result of her involvement with the association – from all sorts of interesting activities, learning new skills, experiencing sleep overs in weird and wonderful places (for example, in several museums, a big top circus marquee, to her next which will be at Whipsnade Zoo!) – but above all, making close-knit friendships with a wide range of children, some whom she might never ever have met had she not have joined. She already has her next step planned, joining the Rangers for young people aged 14 – 18 and, furthermore, has her mind set firmly on achieving, in the not too distant future, bronze award in the Duke of Edinburgh scheme! It was good to know a number of our children have already embarked on their journey taking advantage of all that is on offer within the scouting and guiding world. We wish Belle all the very best in her endeavours in the future – one thing is for sure, we were amazed by her collection of badges and awards, she has clearly embraced each and every opportunity to expand her horizons – thank you so much, Belle!
Thursday’s assembly saw friends from Prep pupils visiting, you may recall, the older boys were set a different task during Anti-Bullying Week, very different from our poster competition. They had to come up with lyrics to reinforce important anti-bullying messages. The winners came to share their amazing results, and wow, what a treat for us, the standard was exceptionally high and had us tapping our toes to familiar tunes – from Old MacDonald, Queen (We will rock you), Jingle Bells, Baby Shark to some composed entirely from scratch. Thank you, boys – we loved your performances!
As you will read, our two EYFS classes, Kindergarten and Reception, had a fabulous morning with dinosaurs on Wednesday; we are extremely grateful to the HPPPA for funding this event – thank you!
