On Wednesday, Surbiton held their U11 seven aside festival. There was some great quality of rugby played, and the Hampton Prep boys raised their game accordingly. In particular, their rucking was outstanding, producing quick, clean ball to continue the next phase of attack. They also lifted their defensive game, ensuring they topped their group and faced Milbourne lodge in their final game. Milbourne where particularly good with their positional discipline, holding depth in their attacking line, ensuring they had pace when running onto the ball. Combined with their offloading in the tackle, this made for an effective attack and eventually gave them the advantage of a try at the final whistle. It was a fair result, and we were proud of the all the boys’ efforts.
The U11s will be in action again tomorrow for the Bishopsgate U11 seven aside festival. We wish them luck. The U10 As will also be playing in our festival this Wednesday in Carlisle Park, kicking off at 1:30pm. Please do come and spectate. Their promises to be some excellent rugby on display.
