Another busy week of announcements – we are delighted to welcome our new House Captains and Vice-Captains, as well as the new School Councillors for the term ahead:
Lancaster (red): Charles, House Captain – Arthur, Vice-Captain
Tudor (blue): Harry, House Captain – Aran and Finlay P, Vice-Captains
Windsor (yellow): Thomas, House Captain – Teddy, Vice-Captain
York (green): George, House Captain – Efe, Vice-Captain
School Councillors: Karam and Neeth (Year 2), Harris and Henry M-J (Year 1); and Kabir and Krishna (Reception).
Pupil voice is very important to us here. Evidence from studies in the UK and beyond suggests that pupil voice strategies can be transformational experiences for both teachers and pupils. I shall bring you news of what our new school councillors have planned for the term ahead as soon as practicable.
This week the Courtesy Cup and Badge went to Vrushank (Reception) for always displaying beautiful manners towards his teachers and friends – and always trying his best!

Year 2: Rosie for showing great enthusiasm and working independently in maths – especially with fractions! Keep up the super work.
Year 1: ‘Rocking’ Rafe for amazing alliterative work in English this week.
Reception: Clara for being an exceptional role model at all times – thank you, Clara!
We also congratulated Krishna (Reception) for achieving ‘Player of the Week’ for his rugby team Reeds Weybridge – very well done!
It seems a blink of the eye since our Year 2 children joined Pre-Prep, however, next week they begin their transition events in preparation for Year 3; Mrs Howard and her colleagues in Prep have put together an exciting programme of events. Please note all current children will join theses events with the exception of Monday 17 June.
You will recently have received an invitation to join an online talk on 14 May at 7.30pm led by Esta Hardy to discuss matters raised in the last Children’s Commissioner report. I would urge all Pre-Prep parents to attend and not discount this as too early to consider such matters. Driving to work on Tuesday morning, I was alarmed to hear a piece on the radio sharing the findings of the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) – you can find the accompanying written piece on BBC site, ‘Three-olds groomed online charity warns’. This follows recent warnings from the communications watchdog Ofcom that almost a quarter of children aged five to seven have their own smart phone of their own to use. Please do ensure your parental restrictions are set at highest possible on all devices at home!
Another important date for your diary, if not already added, is Thursday 6 June as this is when we have our Centenary Pre-Prep Sports Day and Picnic.
