We have been learning about Guy Fawkes and Bonfire Night on the 5th of November. We discovered that Guy Fawkes wasn’t very kind and definitely didn’t follow the Golden Rules! To celebrate, we made amazing firework pictures using forks and paints to create our colourful fireworks. We even cut out silhouettes of houses and practised using describing words like ‘bang’, ‘pop’, ‘whizz’ and ‘whoosh’ to make our firework noises!

Mr Smith read us a story about a family celebrating Bonfire Night, and we had fun spotting all the different colours of the fireworks. We watched real firework displays on our whiteboard at school and marvelled at all the bright and sparkling colours. Safety is super important when watching fireworks, so we read the Firework Code and enjoyed Firefighter Fred’s safety story. We learned how to keep safe – like standing back from fireworks, wearing gloves for sparklers and, most importantly, never ever touching fireworks.  What a week of fun, learning and sparkling creativity!
