We were excited to see what happens to our Christmas cards and letters after we put them in a real post-box. We watched a video that showed us what happens next and were amazed at the big machine that sorts small letters from the big ones, and how it even reads the postcodes on the envelopes! Everyone was really interested to see the night sorting train – we thought it looked like so much fun!

Our week has been full of creativity! The children enjoyed making their own 2D Christmas cards using card, wool and pom-poms. They also made beautiful 2D angels with paper doilies, glue and glitter, which are now part of our festive display. The children practised their cutting skills by carefully cutting out characters from The Jolly Christmas Postman story.

There was plenty of festive spirit as Mr Smith read us the famous Christmas poem Twas the Night Before Christmas and we have been reading many more Christmas stories in class.

There was a lot of excitement as the children took part in the Secret Santa event; they had a wonderful time choosing presents thoughtfully for family members which they look forward to placing under their Christmas trees at home.
