In maths, we have been continuing to learn about subtraction.  We used a variety of methods to aid this learning – using our fingers, counting back on a number line, and using tens frames to help us calculate ‘how many left’.  It would really benefit the children to have plenty of exposure to practical opportunities to practise their new subtraction skills at home. For example, “If mummy has 6 grapes and she gives two to you, how many will she have left?” The children could then record this in a number sentence – 6 – 2 = 4.

In our computing lesson, we put all the skills we have learnt over this term together, to create a picture of our house, complete with text.  We can use the fill, undo, and paint tools, and even know how to vary the size of brush. Now we can add text to our work and save it – ready to add more to.

Wishing you all a peaceful Christmas, and we look forward to seeing the children back at school and raring to go for the Spring term.
