Wednesday brought the U11 A team 7s festival. With a couple of boys recovering from knocks and being rested for this weekend it wasn’t quite a full-strength team, but nevertheless the performance through the afternoon was strong. As in the King’s House festival, RGS Guilford presented a challenge, and this time it was their turn to take the win.
Today, the U11s have hit the road with Mr Ford, Mr Bendelow, Mr Thakrar and me for a multi-sports tour to the Midlands! This afternoon’s main event is us taking part in a rugby festival at Beechwood Park School and tomorrow a football fixture versus Fairfeld Prep in Loughborough, before heading to the Pride Park to watch Derby vs. Blackburn. Many thanks to Mr Bendelow and Mr Ford for arranging an exciting weekend for the boys.
As if this was not enough sport, we also have the U8s, U9s and U10 A teams in action at the Surrey Rugby Festival hosted by King’s College Wimbledon. The conditions couldn’t be better for it. The message to them in assembly this morning was to keep it simple: in attack, go forward into the gaps and pass or take the tackle. In defence, go forward and tackle. It’s always a great festival with great rugby being played. We wish them the best of luck!
