In mathematics this week we have been re-capping our 2D shapes. We enjoyed working with the shapes practically; exploring, rotating and manipulating to fill tangram shapes and animals. It was lovely to see the children working practically with their puzzles. Tangrams are fantastic fun and allow the children to explore the shapes properties and help with spatial reasoning.  We have also been learning about sharing and halving. We thought about sharing fairly and played a hungry monster sharing game.

We have been ‘beary’ creative this week too. In pairs, we have enjoyed making ‘a going on a bear hunt’ collage map; it was lovely to see how imaginative the journeys following the map would be! We have enjoyed playing with our new bear cave, playing with the habitat of bears in the tuff tray and in our outside garden.

Next week in our topic work, we will be learning about worms and enjoying the story ‘Super worm’!
