But how best to support boys in preparation for their sporting endeavours, be that at school or at the weekends? Happily, I received an article through the Professional Association of Directors of Sport in Independent Schools that was on this very topic. It is tailored to ‘The Big Event’, but equally, has advice relevant to supporting your child at regular, weekly, sporting fixtures and therefore, keep them engaged and enjoying their sport as they develop.

How can you help your child prepare for their big sports event? – Working with Parents in Sport

We are halfway through the summer term, and it has been glorious to have had the opportunity to play in amazing weather. It was a close call on Wednesday with rumble of thunder almost preventing the games against TPS going ahead, but we managed to get at least half of the games played before they were curtailed. Enough of the U11 B and C games were played to evidence a strong win was on the cards for both teams.

Looking ahead to next term, there are three house events to be aware of:

Mon 9th June – Swimming Gala 1:30pm-3:30pm

Mon 23rd June – Sports Day 1:30-3:30pm

Tues 1st July – House Cricket Year 5 and 6: 9:30am to 11:30 am.   Year 3 and 4: 1:30pm to 3:30pm.
