Giving Children a Voice: School Council & Eco Warriors
At Pre-Prep, we believe every child should be heard, valued and empowered to make a difference. Our School Council and Eco Warriors are shining examples of pupil voice in action.
The School Council, made up of elected representatives from each class, meets regularly to share ideas, raise concerns and help shape the school experience. From playground improvements to fundraising initiatives, their thoughtful contributions reflect the care and creativity of our young leaders.
Furthermore, Year 2 Eco Warriors are passionate about protecting the planet. They lead the way in promoting sustainability – encouraging recycling, reducing waste and inspiring their peers to think green. A new initiative last year, our Eco Warriors enthusiasm reminded us that even the smallest actions have an impact, and we are looking forward to hearing the ideas of our incoming warriors.
Together, these groups help foster a culture of responsibility, respect and collaboration. We’re incredibly proud of their efforts and the positive changes they help to bring about.
We will shortly be announcing our new councillors and warriors – elections take place next week, so do talk to your child about these exciting roles.
Reading
Thank you for attending our Reading Information Evening last night – all PowerPoints will be shared next week. An important message from the evening – reading aloud to your child remains vitally important well into the primary years, as reading for pleasure has a profound impact on a child’s educational development. Research over the years has shown that children who regularly read for enjoyment not only perform better in reading assessments but also develop a richer vocabulary, broader general knowledge and a deeper understanding of other cultures.
Celebrating Achievements
Thursdays are all about celebrating the children’s achievements – in and out of school.
