In English, we explored the delightful story Knuffle Bunny by Mo Willems, in which a girl misplaces her beloved soft toy.  On Tuesday, it was a real treat to meet the children’s own cherished toys – thankfully none were lost at school!  The children wrote thoughtful sentences to introduce their toys to the class, focusing on careful cursive letter formation and ensuring each letter started on the line.  We also practised ending our sentences with the correct punctuation.

In maths, we’ve been developing our counting skills – crossing out objects as we count them on paper, moving real objects to support accurate counting, and always starting from 1.  The children also worked hard on forming their numbers correctly beginning each one at the top and practised using one more and one less.

We’re also thrilled to introduce our new class pet, LuLu, lovingly named by the children. LuLu will be spending weekends with each family throughout the year, and we can’t wait to hear all about the exciting adventures you share together!
