We read a Mr Men & Little Miss story about being unique, which sparked a lovely discussion about how we are similar to — and different from — our family and friends.
The children were especially excited to take home their “Show and Tell” bags. It was such a joy to see the items they brought in and to hear them speak so confidently about their chosen toys or treasures.
We’ve introduced the role of Class Helper this week. Each day, a child’s name is drawn from an envelope, and if they wish, they can take on this special role. Responsibilities include counting how many children are present, serving fruit at snack time, being first in line, and helping the teachers with daily tasks. It’s been a wonderful way to encourage independence and responsibility.
As part of our ongoing focus on Golden Rules, we’ve been learning about ‘Do Be Honest’ and ‘Do Work Hard’. We talked about the importance of listening carefully — with our ears and our eyes — when our friends and teachers are speaking, so that we are actively listening!
Next week, we’re looking forward to diving into our new topic, ‘The Little Red Hen’.
