The boys went onto explain that Safe Vehicles prevent crashes, protect people and are roadworthy. They also explained that following the speed limit is essential to the safety of road users due to reaction speeds and braking distances.

They had these tips to share so that we, as a school community, be safe on the roads:

  • Always be sure to follow the green cross code, making sure to look and listen when crossing the road.
  • Always have your seat belt on when travelling in a car.
  • When on your bicycle:
  • be sure to wear your helmet to protect your head.
  • Make sure your tyres are pumped up and that your brakes work properly.
  • Wearing brightly coloured clothes and using lights so you can be easily seen by other road users.
