The children have been busy finishing their own gingerbread men paintings, decorating them with real buttons, a pompom nose and funny googly eyes to make them truly special. Using the painting program on the interactive whiteboard (IWB), they designed imaginative gingerbread characters and practised counting the total number of buttons, matching them to the correct numeral. To top it off, the children carefully completed sewing their own felt gingerbread man puppets, adding buttons and eyes with great care and focus.
Wednesday was an exciting day as we dressed in our special costumes and performed All About Christmas for our families. The children had so much fun singing a variety of songs and remembering all the accompanying actions—a big well done to everyone for their enthusiasm and effort!
On Thursday, we enjoyed a festive trip to the local bakery in search of gingerbread reindeer, which we had heard were very tasty! Each child took some money and asked politely for their treat. The bakery staff were full of praise for their fantastic manners! After carefully carrying our gingerbread reindeer back to school in paper bags, we packed them in our bookbags to take home and enjoy. We even put our road-safety knowledge into practice while crossing the road.
A special congratulations to Kit, who was awarded his Duckling Level 1 Award in swimming—well done!
Next week, we’ll be spreading seasonal cheer through the lovely story The Jolly Christmas Postman!
