We have also explored cooperation and teamwork, drawing inspiration from the tiny ant – a powerful example of how much can be achieved when individuals work together towards a common goal. Along the way, we discovered a number of fascinating facts about ants – do ask yourchild how many facts they can remember! More recently, we have turned our attention to respect, discussing the importance of celebrating everyone’s differences, and showing kindness and acceptance in all interactions.
On Thursday, Mr Smith talked about the power of kindness, setting us the Daily Kindness Challenge, ensuring each day includes at least – one kind thought, one kind word and one kind action. I am sure Pre-Prep children will achieve this challenge both here at school and at home.
Encouraging children to play an active part in their school community is essential for their confidence, development and sense of belonging. Our School Council is a key platform that helps nurture responsibility, teamwork and leadership across the pupil body. It offers children the chance to share their thoughts, influence decisions and collaborate on initiatives that enrich school life and support the wider community. Being part of the council not only boosts self-belief but also reinforces the importance of cooperation, respect and listening to others. It ensures that every child recognises that their voice matters. Ultimately, the School Council reflects our dedication to shaping considerate, engaged young people who are prepared to make a meaningful difference in the world.
With this in mind, I am delighted to introduce our School Councillors for the spring term: Reception – Kasen and Shaan; Year 1 – Dilraj and Eesa; and Year 2 – Vrushank and Zayn.
