In English, we have been focusing on adjectives, particularly adjectives that help us describe characters in stories. We spent time reading and discussing different characters and thinking carefully about the words we could use to describe their personalities and appearances. The children worked hard to think of interesting and imaginative describing words. To practise their writing skills, they wrote a letter to their favourite adult explaining who their favourite story character is and why they enjoy that character so much. In their letters, they also described the stories they like best and used many wonderful adjectives to bring their characters to life.

In humanities, we have started learning about weather features and how to recognise it. The children discussed different types of weather such as sunshine, rain, wind, and clouds, and we talked about how weather can change from day to day. They also shared their own observations about the weather they have experienced recently. In addition to this, we began exploring the topic of Easter and discussing what it represents. We talked about some of the traditions associated with Easter and started to learn about the meaning behind the celebration (beyond chocolate eggs!).

Overall, it has been a fantastic and busy week in class. The children have enjoyed starting several new topics and have shown great enthusiasm in their learning. We also had lots of excitement celebrating World Book Day, which encouraged everyone to share their love of reading. It has been wonderful to see the children so engaged with books, stories, and classroom activities throughout the week.
