Year 1 were bursting with excitement as they set off to Hanwell Zoo – and with the sunshine shining brightly, it was the perfect day for a zoo adventure!
From the moment they arrived, the children were amazed by all the animals they could see up close. The lemurs were full of energy, leaping and bouncing around as if they were putting on a special show just for Year 1! The flamingos stood tall and proud, expertly balancing on one leg, while the meerkats popped up and down, keeping a very close eye on their visitors. The donkeys also tried their best to steal the spotlight – some might say they were the cheekiest animals of the day!
There were plenty of giggles, wide eyes, and excited chatter as the children explored the zoo. It was wonderful to see them spotting things they recognised from their learning and sharing new facts with each other. They thought carefully about what the animals eat, where they live, and the clever ways they survive in their habitats.
The sunshine made the day even more special, giving everyone the chance to enjoy a picnic. Even better, the children behaved beautifully throughout the trip and represented the school brilliantly. Staff were so impressed with their manners, enthusiasm, and curiosity. Year 1 returned to school with happy faces, lots of stories to tell, and maybe even a few new favourite animals!
