Art and craft activities similarly followed the theme and we created goat faces using paint and paper plates to sit on sweet green grass for our class display.  We also made Billy Goat masks to use as a prop for our ‘trip trapping’! There was a STEM challenge in class this week too as we had to find a way to build a bridge using Lego, magnets or bricks for the goats to stand on – we have seen some very impressive structures. Another star challenge that we did was to create our own trolls using the playdough and a variety of collage such as feathers, wiggly eyes, matchsticks and pompoms.

We also had a go at ‘still life’ drawings of spring flowers. We looked in close details of the beautiful tulips and daffodils. We then chose if we wanted to draw the flowers using paint sticks or oil pastels.

In maths, we have been looking at ‘one more than’. Using Unifix bricks we made towers, adding one more than up to 10.

There have been lots of circle times this week, discussing the words ‘kindness’ and ‘respect’. We talked about why and how we show kindness and respect to our friends, teachers, parents and siblings. We show respect by listening to everyone first time and show kindness through our kind words and kind hands.

Our topic next week is Pirates. We invite the children to come dressed as a pirate on Friday 17th to join in the pirate fun!
