Supporting parents and Prep aged boys through the process of transferring to a Senior School at 11+ is one of our fundamental roles. We strongly believe there is no such thing as the best school, rather the right school for each individual boy.
Close and careful consideration of next school choice – and how to ensure each individual boy is as best prepared as he can be for the rigours of competitive entry to senior schools through the 11+ examination process – involves as much art as science. We are always happy to discuss next school choice with parents, usually from the end of Year 4 and on throughout the course of a boy’s time in Year 5. We share our opinions and views on each boy’s efforts, progress and outcomes at each age and stage, backing up what we say with a range of useful indicators and plenty of robust evidence.
By the time boys have reached the beginning of Year 6 there will have been every opportunity for close alignment between home and School to develop regarding which schools will suit each boy best at 11+. We consider it a terrific privilege to play our part in such a critically important decision – one which will potentially influence the rest of each boy’s life.
