A cheerful lion cub is the symbol we use to represent our School, and of course he speaks to the lions on the ancient heraldic shield that forms part of the visual symbol for Hampton, thus linking us nicely together. Given lions live in prides, we thought that was the perfect word for our new set of school values! Just as lions thrive together, so too do we at Hampton Pre-Prep & Prep when we live out the ‘pride values’ that bind us as a community.
Thanks to the work Mrs Howard (our Deputy Head, Pastoral) has been leading with pupils and colleagues over recent months, we now have six clear values at the Prep, which we are launching this year: Respect, Kindness, Responsibility, Integrity, Generosity, and Cooperation.
Staff will be using these values in daily conversations with the boys, celebrating the many ways they already live them out. In addition to awarding excellence points for academic effort and achievement, we shall now also award them when we see the ‘pride values’ in action.
In short, we are widening the ways we recognise excellence, not only of mind, but of character too. We all look forward to seeing how the boys roar with pride as they put these values into action this year!
