‘Bling your Bike’ Competition:

As the sunny days arrive we are anticipating boys in the Prep may choose to cycle to school. With this in mind, Mrs Tinkler thought it would be a terrific idea to run a competition to encourage boys to get creative and ‘Bling their Bike’! She would like boys to decorate their bike at home and cycle to school on Friday 29 April. PC Steve Burke, who is the Youth Engagement & Schools Sergeant for Richmond upon Thames will be helping to judge the ‘blingiest’ bikes. He has a number of bike ‘anti-theft’ marking kits and will mark the winning bikes himself. ‘Anti-theft’ bike marking helps the police and retailers to identify and verify the legitimate owners of bikes that have been stolen or are being illegally resold. Mrs Tinkler has explained to the boys in the Prep that our friends, Gemma and Adam at Birdie Bikes (just at the end of Wensleydale Road), have lots of lovely blingy bits and pieces. Do pop in to see them after school and tell them Mrs Tinkler sent you. They will be happy to help. Do also consider how boys might be able to add some homemade bling of course!
