At the beginning of this week our thoughts and actions turned towards September, and the start of the new school year. We had our ‘moving up day’ which meant pupils across the school enjoyed finding out who their teachers will be next academic year. We mix the Forms up in the Prep, so pupils here also learnt which boys will be in their Form whom they have not previously been with. Mixing the boys up each year is important to me. A Year 6 boy commented to me this week in fact that he found this to be a real strength of his time at our school. He said “I’ve made friends with boys I never really knew before and hadn’t really thought I’d ever be friends with”. Knowing how to get along with all sorts is a skill for life, I would say.
