Year 3 Residential Trip

News from Mr Salt - Head of Sport

Twickenham Prep provided the opposition for the boys this week. The U10s went away to their grounds at Kempton Park and put in a dominant display. The A team played a patient game, passing game and looked in control for the length of the match, leading to a 4-0 win. The B team were particularly dominant in their game, winning 7-0.

A Word from Mrs Murphy

Colourful odd socks were on display on Monday morning here at Pre-Prep ready to kick off Anti-Bullying Week. During the week, we have discussed the definition of bullying, its negative impact on others and what we can do to support one another if ever we see things we don’t like taking place.

Reception

This week Reception have enjoyed learning about animals, and have looked at the many types of animals and creatures, noticing similarities and differences between them. We read the story ‘The Journey Home’ by Frann Preston-Gannon - it tells of a polar bear setting off to find a new home, adventuring across the sea and joining other endangered animals on his journey.

Year 2

Year 2 have had a busy week! In maths the children have worked really hard, bringing together all their addition and subtraction of 2 two-digit numbers knowledge. Using base 10 equipment, they were able to work on calculations where they have to exchange 1 ten for 10 ones in order to complete the addition and subtraction equations. They showed determination and good partitioning skills throughout.
