A heartfelt thank you goes to Mrs Jepson and Ms von Allemann for masterminding this wonderful tradition, and of course, we are immensely grateful to all the mummies and daddies who generously gave their time to lend a hand. Your support makes these magical moments possible!

Preparations for next week’s performance are in full swing. Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 have been rehearsing hard, and we are very much looking forward to welcoming you to the James Hall at Prep 2.30pm on Wednesday 10 December. To make arrival easier, the Carlisle Park gate will be open from 2.20pm and we encourage you to park along Wensleydale Road rather than Wensleydale Gardens.

Assemblies have been few and far between this week, but the children enjoyed a fantastic workshop led by OpenView to reinforce their understanding of bullying — and, more importantly, the actions they should take if they ever notice someone being treated unkindly or left out. Do ask them about what they learned; it was a powerful session.

Our first Golden Rule is “Do Be Gentle”, and we encourage the children to think carefully about how their actions affect others. Kind hands, kind feet and kind voices are a vital part of this, especially when playing with friends in the playground. Occasionally, over-exuberant behaviour can creep in, but please rest assured that rough play is not tolerated and has no place at Pre-Prep. We regularly remind the children about playing gently, and we thank you for your continued support in reinforcing this important message out of school.

With such a busy schedule, we haven’t been able to award the usual Star of the Week and Courtesy Cup, these will return next term. However, we did make time to celebrate some wonderful Year 1 successes outside of school. Congratulations to Shaylen for being chosen at Gymnast of the Week at Tolworth Gymnastics club for very good vault and springboard work; Oscar for his football medal recognising his perseverance in terrible weather; and Anish for successfully passing Stage 2 swimming.  Well done to those children for their fantastic efforts!

It was so lovely seeing so many of you at our Open Classrooms today, which we hope you enjoyed. The children love showing their work and their classrooms to visitors, and quite rightly, are very proud of their achievements this term.

As this is the last bulletin of the term, I wish you all a very peaceful, restful and happy Christmas, and very much look forward to seeing you in 2026.
