We are introducing our new assembly theme, The People on Our Planet, which will encourage the children to think more deeply about diversity, community and what it means to live alongside others with kindness, curiosity and respect. We look forward to seeing how these important discussions shape their understanding of the wider world over the coming weeks. As mentioned in my beginning of term letter, if you would like to contribute to our assembly programme do get in touch.

A quick reminder on Tuesday 5 May, that is, immediately after the bank holiday weekend, we will have a fun-filled day learning about Ancient Rome. Don’t forget the children should come to school dressed in Roman-inspired attire – nothing elaborate or expensive is needed as Mr Barber mentioned in his letter.  Simple, creative interpretations are absolutely encouraged!

This week the Courtesy Cup and Badge went to Harry (Year 1) for sharing his favourite Roald Dahl books from home and reading them to the class with Miss Madden.

and Stars of the Week were awarded to:

Year 2:  Oscar for his enthusiasm to complete his maths activities, and for super focus in handwriting lessons.

Year 1: Oscar for being kind and caring to a new pupil in Reception – well done.

Reception: Kartar for being a joyful learner – for coming into school with a big smile and showing excitement in both his play and learning.

More awards followed, and so our congratulations go to:

Year 1:  Harry, for skiing so well at ski school during the break, and Oscar, for his trophy in recognition of how well he played last season.

Year 2:  Finlay, for a Certificate of Respect awarded by Teddington RFU U7, two medals for winning rugby matches against Rosslyn Park and London Welsh, and a trophy for running straight in matches;

Anton, for receiving a medal as runner-up in a tennis tournament; and

Clara, for a medal and certificate for successfully completing her ski course.

Have a super weekend!
