Year 1 children should wear their PE kit to school to assist them with changing at the pool. All the children (Years 1 and 2) should wear their swimming trunks, in place of pants, into school on Tuesdays, bringing fresh, dry underwear to put on after the lesson.  Everything must be labelled, swimming kit (trunks and swimming towel), pants, socks, vests and even googles –  imagine dressing 22 identical twins! Regarding the googles, if possible please loop a name tape through the strap – over the years, we have discovered other methods quickly lose their effectiveness.  If you are still assisting your child with their dressing in the mornings, now is the time to give them the opportunity to do this by themselves in readiness for school swimming lessons.

We are greatly looking forward to a time when we can welcome parents back to events at school, with luck, after the 21st June.  Therefore, please do add Pre-Prep Sports Day on Thursday 24 June and Prize Day & Summer Concert on Thursday 1st July to your diaries.  More details of these will be forwarded to you in due course.

The children have continued to think about the theme ‘disagreement’ and loved Miss Page’s assembly on Monday when she challenged them to think about ways of solving disagreements with others. Falling out with friends is inevitable from time to time, it is all part of life’s rich tapestry and we cannot assume we will always agree with others .  What is important, however, is that we learn to respect other people’s views and ideas, learning to politely disagree.  Staying calm and listening to other people’s views, we believe are at the very heart of this.

Have a super Bank Holiday weekend!

Congratulations to Jazz (Year 1) who has recently joined the 7th Hampton All Saints Beavers. So far, he has only been able to join his fellow Beavers via Zoom; however, he has taken this in his stride and has already collected the following badges: Book Reader Activity badge, Explore Activity badge, Digital Citizen Activity Badge, Emergency Aid Activity Badge, Hikes Away Activity Badge and Safety Activity Badge.  He also recently prepared a delightful picture for the residents of Marling Court care home. Lots of the residents there are still not able to have visitors so this very thoughtful gesture will have cheered them no end.
