Next week, we’ll be discussing Remembrance Day and, more particularly, the fact that it is 100 years since the Royal British Legion sold its first 9 million poppies in 1921. This emblematic poppy, born through the poem “In Flanders Fields”, by John McCrae has been used ever since. The Legion offers incredible support to many – poppies will be on sale at Pre-Prep again next week in order to help the RBL continue their magnificent work.
The recipient of the Courtesy Cup and Badge this week was Akshen (Reception) for demonstrating exceptional manners in cookery club.
Stars of the Week were awarded to:
Year 2: Lev for his excellent work in maths this week – keep it up!
Year 1: Isla for an excellent list of adjectives in English this week – well done!
Reception: Jimmy for working so hard in all his lessons this week – well done, Jimmy!
Congratulations to brothers Harry (Year 2) and Charlie (Reception) both of whom received trophies in recognition for being selected as ‘Players of the Week’ at their rugby club for their respective age groups. Also, many congratulations to Isla (Year 2) for achieving Stage 2 Swim Award – good effort!
