Please don’t forget to send your child/children to school dressed as a favourite book character on World Book Day.  As a staff, we are basing our costumes on J.M. Barrie’s book ‘Peter Pan and Wendy’ – if you are still looking for inspiration for Thursday, there is plenty of scope for us to include pirates and lost boys in our merry band!

A quick reminder that Reception, Years 1 and 2 still have their PE lessons in the afternoon of that day so it is very important that they either bring in their PE kit, including trainers, to change into or wear some of their kit underneath their costumes.

We still have a few children without a letter to open on World Book Day – please do send one in via hand for Monday 28 February if you possibly can.

Reception had great fun earlier in the week in the company of our Prep ‘Junior Travel Ambassadors’ (JTAs), who put them through their paces, honing not only their road safety awareness but also their safe scooting skills – read more about this in Reception’s section of the Bulletin. Our thanks to the JTAs, Miss Randazzo and Mrs Tinkler!

The recipient of the Courtesy Cup and Badge was Isla (Year 1) for demonstrating exceptional kindness to her friends – she is always there to help, whenever they need a hand.

and Stars of the Week went to the following children:

Year 2: Akhil for always demonstrating excellent behaviour and for working hard in all lessons.

Year 1: Zac for excellent reading progress – we love the way he is beginning to read with expression.

Reception: Harry for his fantastic racing car painting and his independent writing about details of his racing car.

Mr Smith also made awards to the following children for their achievements out of school – congratulations to Alfred (Year 1) for his 5m swimming badge, Rubah (Year 1) for his skiing medal  and to Daniel (Year 1) also for his skiing badge – very well done to you all!
