The charity, of course, helps children facing adversity all over the UK, so naturally this has been a good talking point for our assemblies.  From 1980 – 2019 the charity has raised £1, 493,556, 3999 – our school councillors are excited to let you know how much we will add to this total once we have totted up our takings – watch this space for an update next week!

Adversity has also been mentioned in connection with our Remembrance Day events. In very age appropriate ways, we have remembered all the very brave soldiers who sadly lost their lives.  Moments of reflection such as these are so important to remind us all how lucky we are, even in current times.

AWARDS THIS WEEK

Courtesy Cup and Badge recipient: Viaan (Year 2) for always greeting the adults with a cheerful smiley “Hello, how are you?” at the beginning of the day and for wishing them a lovely evening at home time.

Stars of the Week:

Year 2: Fin for doing some fantastic problem solving this week in maths!

Year 1: Arjun for working consistently hard during independent tasks.

Reception: Quinton working hard learning his numbers to 20.

Many congratulations to Isla (Reception) – together with her sister, she ran a virtual poppy run and raised over £250 for The Poppy Appeal 2020.  Their target was £100 but Isla is extremely proud that they ‘smashed’ their target.  A fantastic effort, girls!
