As you know, we love to celebrate the children’s achievements, including those that have taken place out of school. One piece of news I am thrilled to share concerns Michael (Year 2) who took part in the London Pipeline Construction Fencing competition. He won the competition with the beautiful entry shown below which he titled, ‘Under the Sea’. Huge congratulation to Michael, as not only will he have his lovely picture on display on the fence when the construction work starts but he has also won £200 pounds to spend on art supplies – very well done!

On the subject of art, a big thank you to all the children who have contributed pieces to our next grand hall display. Beautiful, eye-catching portraits of Queen Elizabeth II will soon adorn our walls and we look forward to sharing these colourful creations with you in due course.

I am also delighted to report that Archunan (Year 2) successfully participated in The Green Park Challenge, 3km run on 3rd of April.  He completed the 3km course  in a speedy 20.34minutes, beating his personal best.  He received the medal and certificate awarded to him during assembly.  What a great effort!

Finally, I would like to offer my huge congratulations to Mrs Swain for completing London Landmarks Half Marathon over the Easter break. In doing so, she raised over £2,000 for the National Autistic Society; this a charity close to her heart as her daughter Immie, now 17 years old, received her diagnosis aged 15.  Since this time, along with her family, Immie has been at the forefront of raising awareness about autism – she has her own Instagram page (@thisisimmie), and she has also given several interviews for both television and newspapers, all of which has proved immensely valuable to others and their families.
