Next week I know will fly by, so as the school year draws to a close it seems fitting to bid a fond farewell to our lovely Year 2 children. We wish each and every one of them much success and happiness as they move on from Pre-Prep to pastures new, whether this be at Prep or further afield. What’s clear in my mind is that they are all so ready for new challenges – their time here has simply flown by and they have brought us much joy and happiness along the way – good luck in the future!
As I have mentioned in the last two bulletins we have our Summer Concert and Prize Giving taking place on Thursday 7 July at 9.30am in the James Hall. Please do enter the Prep site via Carlisle Park gate; it will be open from 9.20am. As usual a plea from all us here, do park considerately, avoiding Gloucester Road and Wensleydale Gardens. On that day, we should like all the children to come to school dressed in their school uniform instead of games kit so that everyone looks super smart for the concert. Please note there won’t be any games sessions on that afternoon as we shall be enjoying our termly Golden Treat during the afternoon.
Speaking of music, in assembly this week and indeed last week, we have been treated to some amazing piano performances. Well done to the following children – Hari (Year 1), Ahana (Year 1), Arjun (Year 2) and Thomas (Year 2). I know they will keep up the good work!
Once again have a super break!
The Courtesy Cup and Badge went to Arthur (Reception) for always having lovely manners around school and for being a super friend. He has been spotted regularly at the writing table making and writing lovely messages for his friends.
Stars of the Week went to the following children:
Year 2: Archunan for always being so kind and helpful to others in school.
Year 1: Charlie for making a huge effort with his reading and progressing brilliantly.
Reception: Efe for always showing enthusiasm towards his independent learning.
We congratulated three children with their progress in swimming yesterday – very well done to Aran (Reception) for achieving Stage 2 with the Swim Acceleration School, Isla (Year 1) for her Learn to Swim Level 3 and Frank (Year 1) for a personal best certificate – 25m Backstroke in 53 seconds!
