With such a momentous occasion in the offing, it seemed only right and proper to make His Majesty King Charles III’s coronation the focus of our activities in school today and despite fears that rain would stop play, we had a fabulous time celebrating in style at Prep albeit in the dining hall rather than the school field – in particular, we loved our picnic themed lunch, topped off by an ice cream!  We now greatly look forward to events planned over this special coronation weekend.

You will have undoubtedly noticed the appearance of a new zebra crossing that has appeared near to school. I am thrilled to say this is down to the tenacious campaigning of the Seward family.  Frank, along with older brother Alfie, made posters and leaflets to enlist support from others in the local area to get this project off the ground.  It took some time but their tireless work paid off, resulting in a safe place for all local residents to cross Broad Lane – very, very well done! Below is a photo of them using the crossing for the first time.

I am delighted to announce our new School Councillors for the term ahead:  Kian & Sebastian G (Reception), Akshen & Henri (Year 1) and Kit & Maxwell (Year 2).  We are very much looking forward to their ideas and initiatives over the course of the term.

Our Courtesy Cup and Badge this week went to Christo (Year 2) for an act of kindness to a fellow classmate, aligned with the values of the School.  Well done!

and Stars of the Week to the following pupils:

Year 2:  Ollie for super focus and paying extra attention to instructions at all times.

Year 1:   Arthur for a wonderful attitude to learning – we love this!

Reception:  Adeline for her beautiful independent news writing about her bank holiday weekend.

Many congratulations to Ahana (Year 2) for achieving her green striped belt in (Teuk Gong Moo Sool) Martial Arts – very well done!

I know many of you will be attending street parties and the like over the long weekend, or perhaps you might even be venturing up to Central London to experience events first-hand – whatever you are doing, I hope you have a fabulous time!
