The 5J boys shared the challenges they had decided to take on during the year ahead and how they planned to go about rising to them. The boys then explained that we usually only see the result of a challenge – the success – and we can easily overlook all the hard work that any individual has put into achieving it. The boys cleverly reminded us it takes resilience to master something. Invaluable life skills on how to tackle adversity will come in to play for whoever faces a challenge. It’s not WHAT happens to us but HOW we respond to what happens that makes all the difference in the end. Do have a look at this very moving clip the boys enjoyed playing to us all:

Mr Ford sought the help of a number of others for his assembly on ‘challenge’. He collected a selection of quotes from boys and adults alike, which are discretely anonymised for you below. Perhaps your sons can remember who said what?
