Hockey has been a fantastic addition to the sporting curriculum this term, with pupils across all year groups embracing the game with enthusiasm and determination. Many were new to the sport, yet everyone quickly grew in confidence and showed real commitment during their PE lessons.
At the start of the term, lessons focused on the core techniques of dribbling, passing and tackling. As the weeks went on, pupils understanding of the game developed rapidly. Everyone worked hard to improve their stick control and spatial awareness, and apply these skills in more competitive game situations.
Across all year groups, there were encouraging displays of developing tactical awareness and teamwork. From bold attempts on goal to well‑timed defensive interventions, pupils showed a real willingness to put new skills into practice. It was also great to see players beginning to read the game more decisively, spotting space and making purposeful decisions in possession.
As the term has unfolded, the boys have refined their individual abilities and shown increasing confidence in competitive play. Their progress has been clear in every game.
