We also explored the theme of new life in springtime, learning that this is when many insects and animals wake from hibernation. We discovered that young animals such as chicks, goslings, ducklings, lambs and rabbits are born at this time of year, marking the start of a new life cycle.

In art, we had lots of fun using paint and broccoli to create our own blossom trees. We also painted tulips using forks and paint pens to add detail to our scenery. The tulips were placed in vases, on the ground, and in pots, making for a colourful and creative display.

In maths, we have been exploring and describing prepositions, focusing on how they indicate the position of objects. We have been practising using terms such as under, over, besides and between to describe where different items are located.

During Circle Time, we have once again emphasised the importance of ‘listening first time’. We talked about how listening carefully helps to keep us safe, especially in school, where we must respond immediately to adults in case of an emergency. We also discussed the importance of first-time listening at home time and, most importantly, staying with the adults who collect us from school. Please support us by ensuring your child always stays close to you during collection.

As the weather warms up and jumpers are being removed, please ensure your child’s clothing is clearly labelled so that lost items can be returned to their rightful owner.

Our topic next week is Easter!
