We looked at many different types of transport and how we travel. We looked at how we move differently by air, road, track and water. There were discussions about which modes of transport we have travelled by – and trains and boats were firm favourites!
We were very much looking forward to our teddy bears’ picnic and, as you know, no picnic is complete without a teddy or cuddly toy. So, we decided to write an invitation to our teddies at home to formally invite them to join us. We thought carefully about their names and traced over them in cursive handwriting.
On Friday, there was lots of excitement from us (and our teddies!) as we prepared to set off for our picnic. We put on our backpacks and, clutching our guests for the day, made our way to Prep. We arrived and settled our bears on the picnic rugs before each taking hold of a handle of the parachute. We played lots of fun circle and parachute games — one we particularly enjoyed trying to keep the ball from falling off. Another our favourite game was pass the parcel
After all that fun, we were ready for a well-deserved picnic. There was plenty of chatter and smiling faces — from children and bears alike! Once we had finished our delicious lunch, we listened to some bear-themed stories before beginning our walk back to school, accompanied by our rather weary teddies.
