We learned that not only do animals live on a farm but also provide food for us too. It was interesting to find out that milk, vegetables, fruit and meat come from the farm. We watched a short video clip showing cows being milked and the onward journey of the milk to the shops. We also watched how curds and whey are added to it to make cheese.

In art, we made handprint farm animals. Once our handprints were dry, we used a black pen to add the detail – snouts, tails and ears and so on and we enjoyed using the funny eyes too.  Our farm shop has also gone done a wow this week in the role play area with many purchases of farm produce.

We are getting very excited to see that our sunflowers have started to grow – watch this space!

Next week, we will be going on safari turning our attention to wild animals.
