We also looked at how we need to keep our teeth healthy. Drinking milk helps our teeth and bones grow strong and we need to brush our teeth twice a day; especially after a treat. We looked carefully at how we need to brush our teeth, starting with a pea sized amount of toothpaste on our toothbrush before the cleaning begins. This led onto where toothpaste comes from so we watched a programme and found that a special chalk is mixed with water to make a gel; this gel then has colouring and flavouring added.

We have had great fun playing in our role play fruit and vegetable shop, filling our shopping baskets with healthy groceries and then waiting for the shop keeper to ring up the total sum on our cash register! We also had fun making and writing shopping lists to take into the shop with us.

Friday saw us making yummy fruit kebabs. Firstly, we had to decide which fruits we wanted to put on our skewer, choosing from melon, strawberries, blueberries, pineapple and bananas. We are very much looking forward to eating these at home. We have been looking at where these fruits come from, discovering some fruit and vegetables are imported from other countries. In England, we cannot grow tropical fruits, such as mangoes, bananas or pineapples as our country is too cold but we can grow pumpkins, apples, pears and cherries!
