In our bakery role-play area, we enjoyed pretending to be bakers and customers, taking turns to buy and sell tasty treats. We also played with ginger- and cinnamon-scented playdough — it smelled so good that we had to remind ourselves it wasn’t real food! We began painting our gingerbread men as well and can’t wait to add the finishing touches next week.
We also started sewing our gingerbread man puppets and are excited to finish them soon so we can put on our very own puppet show.
This week was also Road Safety Week, and we learned all about staying safe when crossing the road. After reading Super Cat’s Road Safety, we practised the important steps: STOP, LOOK, LISTEN, and THINK. We also learned how pelican and zebra crossings help us stay safe, but the most important rule is still to STOP, LOOK, LISTEN, and THINK every time we cross.
We’re looking forward to continuing our Gingerbread Man adventures next week!
A gentle reminder: please ensure that all gloves, scarves, and hats are clearly labelled with your child’s name.
