Willington are a keen cricketing school with some county level players, but the Hampton boys in Years 5 and 6 played with great team spirit. Results were evenly split with some big victories and a loss for the U11 teams and some close losses and a victory for U10s. The fixtures pointed out lessons to be learned and areas of improvement and I have no doubt the boys will be working on these in upcoming sessions. The fixtures continue next week against Surbiton, giving an opportunity for those boys who didn’t play last week to have their first fixture.

As a Games Department, it is very satisfying to see the excitement that boys feel for a fixture, no matter what level they are playing. It is one of the big positives of the job. We’ll continue to harness their enthusiasm, build on this start and lead their progress through the season.
