We are following RFU guidance carefully, playing age grade rules and starting each session with the an RFU Activate session. Activate is a strength and movement control programme that is similar to our usual warm-ups but more rugby specific and has been shown to significantly reduce the risk of injury in matches. More information about it can be found here:

I have had a couple of emails this week about studs on boots and rugby. This is perfectly understandable, and please see the tables below. Here at the Prep we have carefully risk assessed this and ask please that if your son’s boots have removable studs they are all changed for solid metal rounded studs. The table below also shows the different blades and moulded studs which are acceptable. If your son does wear these kinds of boots then can I please ask that you check the studs have not been worn down to give sharp edges. This is for two reasons: firstly, they can injure other boys in the tackle or ruck, secondly, they will give poor traction on the muddy pitches. Ultimately, if we feel a boy’s studs are unsafe, we will ask them to let you know they need new boots and if you are then able to replace them ahead of the very next Games session that would be much appreciated.
