U10 & U11 House Cricket

Bishopsgate School were the opposition this week for the U10s and U11s on Wednesday. The U11s hosted and both the A and B games were tense finishes. The As faced Bishopsgate’s best bowler in the last over and required 4 runs to tie the game. After a string of dot-balls, Will Meehan faced the final ball and sent it to the boundary to avoid defeat. Excellent work under pressure. In the B’s game, Bishopsgate were in bat, in the final over with one wicket remaining but they achieved the last few runs they needed to secure the win and kept their wicket safe. Unlucky for the B team but a great performance nonetheless.

The U10 went to away and demonstrated excellent enthusiasm and cricketing skill to win three out of their 4 games. Mr Bendelow was particularly impressed with how the A team top order batsman played with such control, leaving Bishopsgate’s best bowlers empty handed so the lower order batsman could then build up the score. I was with the C team and was pleased with their communication, accurate bowling and determination to score singles, which resulted in a solid victory.
