The last word should go to Year 6 as it was their last football game representing Hampton Prep. I asked a few Year 6s what playing football for the school meant to them and I shall leave you with some of their responses (I promise I did not put words in their mouths!)

‘My best moment was when we scored in the last minute against our rivals to draw 2-2. I also loved hosting the boys from Elizabeth College Junior School, Guernsey and playing at the ISFA tournament. I learnt that it is better to win and score as a team than as an individual.’

‘I have had an amazing experience with football at Hampton Prep. I have developed a lot through practice and moved from the D to the B team. I have enjoyed the team element and it is fun when we win and I developed my friendships’

‘My best moment was when we beat another school on penalties in the quarter-finals. I have more friends now and it encouraged me to join a football club.’

‘I like football a lot more now. It is really fun playing a team game with my friends. Also, we won 7-0 against one of our rivals!’

‘Getting determination after losing to pick myself up. I also loved scoring a hattrick in a match against another school’

I learnt to look for goal passes and getting into the correct spaces. Lots of fun winning and scoring goals.’
