In general, the boys looked good with the bat in hand were taking their chances to record runs. The main area of improvement needed is with bowling accuracy. With two runs awarded to the opposition for every no-ball and wide bowled, the runs can quickly rack up. We shall be working with the U8s to focus on their bowling accuracy and hopefully we will be hearing a few more wickets tumbling in future!

The U10s had a successful afternoon of it on Wednesday with the A,C and D team winning and the Bs only just losing in the final over by a fine margin. A very good start from them.

The U11 A team match thankfully did go ahead at Esher CC, as this was a Verney Cup game (one of the Surrey Schools Tournaments). The boys played well with the ball in hand, keeping Surbiton down to 66. The boys weren’t quite so strident with the bat in hand and it took a few wickets to fall before the Hampton boys got into their stride to reach the target in the 16 overs, thanks to some lovely batting from Dushyant and Kailan. The boys now move to the next round against Shrewsbury House with a date of play TBC.

U11s are also in action in the first round of the hardball, pairs, Geoff Richards competition on Thursday. They face three teams over the afternoon at Esher CC. Best of luck to them.
