The U11 As were then in action on Thursday as part of the Geoff Richard’s Hardball Pairs Cricket tournament fixture. They faced off against Surbiton, St Lawrence’s and Lovelace Primary School. The boys were a bit slow out of the blocks against Lovelace and some loose bowling meant that they gave away a game they really should have won. They recovered their form against Surbiton but St Lawrence’s fielded a strong team of East Molesy CC players who played assertively to win. That is the end of the road for the boys in that competition but there is still the next round of the Verney Cup to look forward to against Shrewsbury House, which will take place on Thursday 25th May.
On Wednesday the U10 As and Bs played Claremont Fan Court at home and both teams put in strong performances playing the 16 over format. The As won by 8 wickets with a consistent bowling effort. The B team batted first and set a total that Claremont could not reach. An excellent effort.
The Year 4s travelled to Esher CC to play their postponed game against Surbiton this afternoon. There was a good standard of cricket played by all teams that resulted in a victory for all four team. A big well done to them. I look forward to seeing the U8s in action again next week as well as fixtures for the U9s and U11s.
